Accounting Journey so far; My first experience of accounting was during year 11 and 12 studying ATAR Accounting and Finance. I fell in love with the idea of being an accountant and everything to do with the industry/discipline. I decided to continue my newfound passion at Curtin University, and have been studying a Bachelor of Commerce double majoring in Accounting and Finance since 2019.
During my degree I have been fortunate to take part in some great opportunities, one of which was the high achievers program for the faculty of business and law. Through this program I became aware of the internship opportunities the uni offered, and is when I started as an intern at Prestige Partners.
The internship is where I decided what my ideal career would be post graduation …. Tax accountant. I loved the experience and gained so much industry/professional knowledge I wasn’t exposed to at uni. I was fortunate enough to gain a part time position out of the experience, and am now working as a Junior Accountant for Prestige Partners.
What have first few months at Prestige Partners been like: To sum it up in one word it has been AMAZING. The culture at Prestige is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced; it makes you want to get out of bed in the morning and come to work. The whole team is so approachable and has made my training and introduction to the accounting world a lot easier than I expected. The knowledge I have gained in just a few months of being a Prestige is astonishing, I can’t wait for what’s to come during my time at the firm!
